Thaipusam 2013

Posted on

Thaipusam rolled around again this year. We were lucky enough to join our friends Colin and Colin to go to the main temple where the piercings take place to see the devotees get prepped, pierced, and then start their long walk to the temple on the other end of town. It was quite a sight to see. I thought I would have been more squeamish  but there was very little (if any) blood to be seen. This is for sure the wildest that I think Singapore gets, and it’s an amazing thing to witness. The cacophony of noise, people, photographers, and incense makes your head spin and you look around at the managed chaos that takes place.
